Online registration technical issues pushes registration to on-site only

Parents wishing to enroll their children in the various summer recreation programs offered by the City of McAllen will have to do so in person at the three community centers or Parks & Recreation Headquarters as technical upgrades to the online registration system caused the program to shut down.
“We apologize for any inconvenience that this will cause parents, but we hope to have the issue resolved soon,” said Mike Hernandez, Director, City of McAllen Parks & Recreation Department. “However, since school lets out for summer on the 31st and our programs begin on June 4, we wanted to make sure to give every parent an opportunity to register their kids for the summer, keeping them active, healthy, entertained and even fed!”
Parents will need to bring a proof of address in order to register their children. Various programs have different fee structures; only cash or checks are accepted on site. Please consult the City of McAllen website at www.mcallenparks.net, and review the McPARD Summer Guide, which lists all the programs available.
