Andrew Trevino and Tristan Smith of McAllen ISD’s Morris Middle School earned spots on the TMEA All-Region Mariachi Team following auditions held January 11 in La Joya. Treviño earned the Top Spot in the Region: First Chair Violin Group A and First Chair Violin Overall. Smith earned Second Chair Guitarrón Group B and Fourth Chair Guitarrón Overall.
They will be representing Morris Middle School and McAllen ISD at the Annual Region 15 Clinic and Concert March 27-28 at the La Joya ISD Performing Arts Center. They will be taught by world-class clinicians and will participate in a concert along with middle school and high school students from across the region.
