City of McAllen Mayor Jim Darling has declared a local state of emergency in the City of McAllen due to the extremely heavy rainfall causing local flooding.
Many roadways in McAllen are closed due to flooding.

Citizens are urged to suspend travel unless it is absolutely necessary.
For emergency situations, citizens should call 9.1.1.
For non-emergency assistance, citizens may call (956) 681-1234.
Due to extremely hazardous driving conditions, the City of McAllen is not distributing sand bags at this time.
