Congratulations to the McAllen ISD Spelling Bee winners for 2020. From left to right, they are Mailyn Aguas of Seguin Elementary (2nd), Jie Laboriante of Garza Elementary (1st) and Saori Gutierrez of Jackson Elementary (3rd). The winning word was “porridge.”
All three girls will represent McAllen ISD at the 32nd Annual Rio Grande Valley Regional Spelling Bee which will be Saturday, March 7, at Texas State Technical College in Harlingen.
From there, one could qualify for the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May, 2020, in Washington, D.C.
