McALLEN, TX – The December meeting of the McAllen Hospitality Task Force was more than just business as usual. Members, made up of travel, tourism and hospitality professionals, joined forces to donate 343 meals to support the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. Food Bank RGV CEO, Stuart Haniff, MHA, accepted the donations and made a presentation on how the community can be more involved with fighting hunger.
“We couldn’t be more excite to partner with the Task Force,” Stuart Haniff, said. “We’re both in the business of taking care of our community. Food drives like this show how much we can accomplish when we work together.”
“The McAllen Hospitality Task Force works all year long to foster the growth and development of tourism in McAllen. This holiday meeting gives us the opportunity to come together as a team to give back to the community and support an organization that works all year long to fight hunger,” Leigh Wooldridge, Visit McAllen Director of Convention Sales, said.

The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley, Inc. was incorporated in 1986 and has grown to be the largest charity in south Texas based on clients served. In fiscal year 2018, over 55 million pounds of food and fresh produce were distributed to Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties and the Feeding America network of food banks.
