The city of McAllen is known as the Official South Pole of Texas, declared so by Texas Governor Greg Abbott in 2018. With that, it’s TIME, the South Pole of Texas has officially kickoff the holiday season! Come and celebrate our ribbon-cutting ceremony for Christmas in the Park on Friday, December 5, 2025. This FREE, family-friendly festival offers a carnival, food, fun, artisan vendors, arts & crafts, games and activities, entertainment, and concerts. Enjoy the helium balloon preview, the Budweiser Dome and other fun experience booths, with free concerts each night.
On Friday, the following will take to the stage: The Rovers; Gatos Locos; Cheyenne; Evolucion-Texas Evolution.
On Saturday, activities start at 12:00 p.m. and the following bands will be performing: Double Cut; Yard Dawgz; Grupo Esencial; Desert Bloom; Texas Storm; La Lexxion.

Attendees to both Christmas in the Park and the McAllen Holiday Parade can take FREE Park & Ride Shuttles from South Texas College to the event drop-off location. Rides conclude at 12:00 a.m. (midnight)
