Come celebrate the start of the holiday season in McAllen, the official South Pole of Texas with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Christmas in the Park, the free, family-friendly festival. Enjoy carnival, food, fun, artisan vendors, arts & crafts, lots of games, activities, entertainment and free concerts and dance group performances for the whole family.Ā Ā Enjoy the helium balloon preview, the Budweiser Dome and other funĀ Ā booths, including free concerts each night with Friday night bands Gatos Locos, the Texas Storm Band, Grupo Retono, and Grupo Inevitable.Ā
On Saturday, the activities start at 12:00 p.m. and that night, bands include Eros and the Drifters, The Brody Rivers Band, Vinyl Spin, and Southern Ashes; the Ybarra Boyz; and Pedro Garcia āEl Gran Mariachi.ā
Christmas in the Park runs Fri., Dec. 6, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and then again on Sat., Dec. 7, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. ā 11:00 p.m. The Polar Express runs on Sat., Dec. 7, 2024, starting at 12:00 p.m. Attendees to both Christmas in the Park and the McAllen Holiday Parade can take the free park & ride shuttle from South Texas College to the event drop-off location. It concludes at 12:00 a.m.
