McAllen High Drama advances to Area: The McAllen High Drama Team will compete in the Area Championship on Saturday, March 31 in Zapata. They are one of just 48 schools still competing in the state. Their play is called The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. It won at both the District 30-6A One-Act Play and Bi-District One-Act Play championships earlier in March. Individual award winners at Bi-District include Jerry Garza (Outstanding Technician), James Kazen (Honorable Mention), Jennesey Surratt (Honorable Mention) and Jayden Prater (All-Star Cast). Several students also earned individual awards in District. These included: Honorable Mention- Blake Ditto, All-Star Cast- James Kazen, Best Actor- Jayden Prater, Outstanding Technician- Jerry Garza, Outstanding Technician- Ailyn Luna, Outstanding Technician- Wesleigh Wooldridge and Outstanding Technician- Ibrahim Villalobos. McAllen High received four out of the seven tech awards. The Theatre Directors are Mr. Jason Barrera and Mr. Victor Santos. Pictured are student cast and crew members from McAllen High’s One-Act Play.
