Approved by the McAllen City Commission in March 2022, the McAllen Firefighter Training Facility will consolidate the training staff and classroom facilities in one location for fire cadet training. The facility will be built at the location where the McAllen Fire Department currently has their Firefighter Training Tower and all of their fire training equipment, props and accessories, providing for a one-stop shop training for the McAllen Fire Department and the surrounding area.
The Firefighting Training Facility amenities will include a large-tiered seating classroom for meetings and trainings; lobby; restrooms; administrative offices; and conference rooms. The facility will also include accessible parking.
The total cost of the McAllen Firefighter Training Facility is $4,642,700.
The project architect is Gignac & Associates, LLP and NM Contracting, LLC is the project contractor.
The estimated completion date is August, 2024.
