Brian Lewis of Higginbotham Insurance was recognized at the last chamber executive committee meeting for his service on the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Lewis served a four-year term as a board member, and then served two additional years as the Chamber’s Chairman of the Board then as Past Chairman of the Board.
“Brian’s commitment to the board all these years is very much appreciated. Among his many contributions, he shared with us his goal of getting the next generation of leaders involved in the Chamber and our community,” said Steve Ahlenius, McAllen Chamber President/CEO. “He developed his idea to form the McAllen Emerging Leaders, a group of community leaders ages 21-35 who want to become active in McAllen and are looking for opportunities to impact and develop new ideas and projects for the community.”
The McAllen Chamber Board of Directors is comprised of community business leaders who represent various sectors and perspectives including small business, education, banking, healthcare, workforce development and real estate. The Board works together with the Chamber’s CEO and staff to develop the Chamber’s program of work and policies, and is responsible for its finances.
