McAllen, TX – McAllen Attorney of 40+ years, Jose Manuel “Joe” Martinez, announces his candidacy for Justice of Texas 13th Court of Appeals, Place 4. Joe Martinez will be running in the 2024 Democratic Primary
The Texas 13th Court of Appeals is composed of a Chief justice and 5 Justices. This court has intermediate appellate jurisdiction in both civil and criminal cases appealed from lower courts. The 13th Court of Appeals serves the Edinburg & Corpus Christi, Texas. This district encompasses 20 counties in the RGV and Coastal Bend Region, which includes the following counties.

Joe Martinez is a Valley native who has spent his life and career dedicating himself to providing fair and honest legal representation to hundreds of clients over his career of over forty years. Martinez is a UT Alum who graduated with honors and continues his education to this day. His community involvement speaks to his commitment to the Rio Grande Valley and his profession. He is a member of the following organizations; State Bar of Texas Hidalgo Co. Bar Association, Leadership McAllen, Keep McAllen Beautiful and The International Order of Alhambra. He’s married to Josie Medina Martinez and they have 3 grown children; Victoria, Virginia and Jose Manuel II and he is the doting grandfather of 5. He is a long-time member of the Our Lady of Sorrows and Sacred Heart Parishes.
