McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos has taken to social media to promote a message of welcoming old family and friends from Mexico back to McAllen. The message, recorded in Spanish, has been released in anticipation of the upcoming lifting of the non-essential travel ban at international land ports to travelers from Mexico.
“These past 20 months have been a challenge for us all and reminded us the importance of the things that matter: taking care of our health, especially that of our loved ones and doing what is best for our community,” says Mayor Villalobos in the video.
He concludes the video by stating: “May God bless you on your journey as you come back to McAllen, where you will always be welcomed everywhere in our city with open arms.”
