WHY: Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is hosting the Dinner Tonight Healthy Cooking School, a live food demonstration featuring recipes that are cost effective, easy to prepare, and fit into a healthy meal plan. The event, which will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Old Church Winery, 700 N. Main Street, in McAllen will feature a very special celebrity guest: City of McAllen Mayor Jim Darling. Mayor Darling is a leader in the fitness community and has inspired citizens to make health and wellness a priority. “One of the more overlooked aspects of being healthy, is a good diet. I’m excited to partner with Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service to show our citizens that a healthy meal is not only easy to prepare but is also delicious and nutritious,” Mayor Darling said. “I think most people would be surprised at how easy is it is to incorporate a healthy diet
into your fitness program.”
