PHARR, Texas – The City of Pharr has officially canceled its General Municipal Election originally scheduled for May 3, 2025. The Pharr City Commission approved an ordinance canceling the election after determining that all candidates for the open positions were unopposed.
Roberto “Bobby” Carrillo, Commissioner for Place 2; Ramiro Caballero, Commissioner for Place 3; and Daniel Chavez, Commissioner for Place 4, were the only candidates who filed and qualified for their respective positions.
This cancellation results in an estimated savings of $80,000 in taxpayer funds.
