PALMVIEW, TX – Matt’s Building Materials celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting for its newest store in Palmview on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

Matt’s Building Materials is proud to announce that their third store is now open in Palmview, Texas. Located on the south side of Expressway 83 in between Goodwin Road and Showers Road, this event celebrates 45 years of doing business in the Rio Grande Valley and the first new location for the business since 1971.

“I’ve been doing this for 40 years” says Danny Smith the owner and CEO of Matt’s Building Materials, “It’s about people. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about people”. Leading the company through both good and tough times, Danny has watched the Valley and his family grow. His three sons Jeremy, Isaac, and Ben now oversee and manage much of the day-to-day operations of the company, and are heavily involved with helping customers. Grandson Ruben Perez is helping and managing at the new location.

The new Palmview store represents the future of the company as it continues to grow and thrive. Matt’s Building Materials is the oldest locally owned and operated building materials store in the Valley. With a deep understanding of the needs of the community, the company has established itself as a place for both consumers and businesses to get the materials and hardware they need for any building project.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff is almost entirely bilingual and has helped make the store a pleasure to shop regardless of whether they are Valley natives, or Winter Texans. TBB
