Three decades ago, Marsha Green embarked on a journey that not only shaped her professional life but also became a proof to dedication, hard work, and the power of seizing every opportunity. Her career with the Bert Ogden Auto Group, a name synonymous with automotive excellence in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV), is a story of growth, mentorship, and firm commitment.

Marsha recalls the day that marked the beginning of her enduring relationship with the company. “I still remember Mr. Vackar walking me into a small office, equipped with nothing more than a pencil and a phone, and thinking to myself, ‘Now what do I do?'” It was a moment filled with uncertainty, yet it laid the groundwork for what would become a remarkable journey.

From the outset, Marsha embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and determination. “I said yes to anything and everything a store manager needed… hang signs, write on windshields, park cars, assist customers. These tasks were not directly related to marketing, but they were definitely a way to prove my worth,” she explains. This can-do attitude not only showcased her versatility but also her eagerness to contribute to the company’s success in any way possible.

Long ago, really digging into history, Bert Ogden was and still is deeply involved in showing great kindness and engaging with the community. Reflecting on her early days, Marsha notes the humble beginnings of the Bert Ogden Auto Group. “At that time, we had just five brands, and today we have 23!” This remarkable expansion is a confirmation to the company’s growth and its increasing footprint in the automotive industry, particularly within the Rio Grande Valley.

Central to Marsha’s story are her mentors, Bob and Janet Vackar, whose guidance and support have been instrumental in her career. “My mentor owners, Bob and Janet Vackar, have blessed me beyond measure! Their dedication to the RGV is stellar, and I couldn’t be prouder to have been with this company for so long,” she shares with gratitude.

The Vackars’ commitment to the community and their employees has not only contributed to the company’s success but has also fostered a culture of loyalty and pride among their team.
