Mark Anthony Lewis Earns Prestigious National Title Professional Designation

Edwards Abstract and Title Co. is pleased to announce that Mark Anthony Lewis has earned the National Title Professional designation as awarded by the American Land Title Association and the NTP Council. The National Title Professional (NTP) Designation is designed to recognize land title professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, experience, and dedication essential to the safe and efficient transfer of real property. The NTP represents a measure of achievement and commitment to career development.

Deborah L. Scott, Chair of the NTP Council, shared her congratulations with Mark and stated, “You have demonstrated your knowledge, experience and dedication to our industry, and we are honored to welcome you to this elite group of designees.”

Mark started his career in the title insurance industry in 2015 with Stewart Title in San Antonio. He worked on a variety of deals including residential, commercial, construction, and also oversaw a builder account for one of the larger builders in the area.

Born and raised in Edinburg, Mark moved back to the Rio Grande Valley in 2019 and joined the Edwards Team. “I’ve always been focused on a career in the title insurance industry,” Mark said. 

“To be able to work with the Edwards team is an honor, and I appreciate being trusted to help lead such a dynamic company.”

In 2023, he joined the Edwards Executive Committee alongside President & C.E.O. Byron Jay Lewis, Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operations Officer N. Michael Overly, and Alan D. Monroe. Mark was named Vice President of Operations as he oversees the eight full- service offices in Cameron and Hidalgo Counties, focusing on technological enhancements.

A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Mark earned his bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in international management in 2015.

Mark is the youngest person in Texas to obtain all four professional title certifications available, including all three with the Texas Land Title Association (Certified Escrow Settlement Professional, Certified Abstract Examination Professional, and Certified Title Insurance Professional). He is also currently one of two people in the Rio Grande Valley to hold the NTP Designation. Mark will continue operating from Edwards Abstract and Title Co. McAllen office at 4228 N. McColl Road.
