McAllen, TX – The internationally recognized Mariachi 7 Leguas invites the RGV community to their 5th Annual Mariachi 7 Leguas Noche de Estrellas Concert on Saturday, February 22, at the Mcallen Civic Center Auditorium located on 1300 S. 10th St. in McAllen starting at 7:00pm. This year they will have, for the first time, a Mariachi Competition for Elementary, Middle School and High School Mariachis from all over Texas. The winner of the competition will open the show on that evening followed by the all-female group, Mariachi “Las Azucenas”. There will also be a special appearance by Steeven Sandoval, one of the world’s top performing mariachi vocalists and violinists as well as a former lead singer of Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.
Mariachi 7 Leguas owner Emilio Santos Zermeño founded the group in 2004. Their mission is to perform and serve as successful ambassadors of the mariachi arts, through elegant performance and musicianship. The men of Mariachi 7 Leguas are Valley natives, and jacks of all trades; the men all are an impressive group of multi-talented backgrounds from education to entrepreneurship.
“In last year’s concert, we had about 800 people attend including people in our community, visitors from out of town and even Winter Texans,” said Emilio Santos Zermeño. “Mariachi 7 Leguas promises to have an extravagant show that will include a variety of entertainment for audiences of all ages.”
