Melden & Hunt, Inc. is proud to announce that the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) honored Mr. Manuel Carrizales, RPLS as the Rio Grande Valley Chapter 19 TSPS Chapter President of the Year for 2013.
Carrizales has shown great dedication to his appointment as chapter president and has been gracefully acknowledged by a society of his peers. During his year as chapter president, he successfully achieved many milestones for the Rio Grande Valley. He organized the first ever Ethics Seminar hosted by the chapter, which had tremendous success. In addition, he organized a charitable function by method of a toy drive for the U.S. Marines Toys-for-Tots.
Carrizales continues to bring a renewed vision to the local chapter. Attendance continues to be at an all-time high during his tenure. Guest speakers have included entities such as Texas 811, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, International Boundary and Water Commission, National Society of Professional Surveyors, and Texas Board of Professional Engineers just to name a few.
Although his dedication to the local chapter is admirable, his passion for the profession is clearly seen by his involvement in the promotion of surveying in the community. Carrizales has made presentations to the University of Texas Pan American, high schools as well as elementary schools. During National Surveyor’s Week, he took advantage of the occasion to make his profession known by doing a presentation to the Edinburg Rotary Club.
His engagement with Melden & Hunt, Inc. not only allows Carrizales to sharpen his skills daily, but he brings great pride to a company that already has a 67-year tradition of engineering and surveying excellence in the Rio Grande Valley.
