If traveling by car, make frequent stops to allow dogs to go to the bathroom and stretch their legs. Never leave your pet alone in a parked car. Play Safely in the Water Check for advisories and signage before visiting lakes, rivers, and oceans. Water may be unsafe if it smells bad or if you see scum, foam, or changes in water’s color.
