McAllen, TX – On November 21, 2019, young Rodrigo Sanchez pitched at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce’s Good Pitch Competition with his project “Light Up” where he serviced homes with Christmas decorative services. The first-time participant received third place, yet everyone recognized the passion and potential of his project.
While being a member of Business Professionals of America (BPA), he trained to present a project at the State Leadership Conference hosted on March 5-7 at Dallas, Texas. The project presented was “Guaranteed Annual Income”. Guaranteed Annual Income is an ambitious system that aims to secure an income level to all the population. Deep research was made and the team concluded with strictly unbiased information that the nation is not ready yet for a program as such, but if it were to be adopted there will have to make revisions of the current definition of guaranteed annual income. “Although it sounds very appealing at first, do not be lured as not everything that shines is gold” Rodrigo Sanchez states. “A Guaranteed Annual Income could potentially put our economy in danger” he concluded.
There where 34 teams represented in the topic of Economic Research, 2 teams per region from all over the state. The team of local entrepreneurs secured the first place. The team is comprised by Rodrigo Sanchez, Claudia del Rio, Emiliano Velez, Mariana Martinez.
The success of their research will take them to the National Leadership Conference of Business Professionals of America which will be hosted at Washington, DC on May 6-10, 2020.
