McALLEN, Texas — McAllen native and experienced educator Lizzie Kittleman officially launched her campaign for McAllen Independent School District (MISD) School Board Trustee Place 1 March 9. 3.     Transparency and Accountability: Upholding transparency and engaging community members and staff in the decision-making process.

Kittleman has a proven track record in education that has already earned her the local endorsement of the McAllen American Federation of Teachers (McAllen AFT). She earned both degrees from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. While Kittleman is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, she has over nine years of experience as an educator. She was voted Teacher of the Year in 2019 while working at a Title I campus. Kittleman is a graduate of Leadership McAllen Class 41 and currently serves as a board member for the Boys and Girls Club of McAllen.

Earlier this month Kittleman’s campaign kickoff event was held on the 17th Floor of Chase Tower in Downtown McAllen. Kittleman laid out the foundation of her campaign in a room full of supporters, as well as dignitaries including:
