PEÑITAS, Texas – Hidalgo County Precinct 3, in collaboration with the City of Peñitas, is proud to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the Liberty Road Expansion Project. The event will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at 848-898 Liberty Blvd. in Peñitas, Texas. The public and media are invited to attend this milestone event, marking the official start of construction on this transformative infrastructure initiative.
The Liberty Road Expansion Project aims to create a much-needed corridor that addresses the current needs of the Precinct 3 community while preparing for future growth. This project is a critical step toward improving mobility, enhancing safety, and supporting economic development in the West.
Hidalgo County Precinct 3, under the leadership of County Commissioner Everardo Villarreal, is taking the lead on this project in partnership with the City of Peñitas. The project has been made possible through the continued support and investment of the Rio Grande Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Texas Department of Transportation.
“The Liberty Road Expansion Project is a testament to our commitment to improving infrastructure and quality of life for the residents of Hidalgo County and the City of Peñitas,” said Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Commissioner Everardo Villarreal. “This project will not only enhance safety and mobility but also pave the way for future economic growth and development in our community.
