The RGV Hispanic Chamber Legislative committee is excited to be hosting their annual Legislative Report Card Luncheon that is scheduled for Thursday, August 16th at the Cimarron Country Club from 11:30am to 1:30pm. The Legislators will give a brief report on the bills that they authored and advise how it will affect the Valley. They will also be presented with questions from the committee relating to the committees that they sit on.
“Our Valley Legislators need to be commended for all of the work that they have done”, noted Mark Hanna, the RGVHCC vice chair of government affairs. “The Valley delegation has won a lot of respect throughout the state for their dedicated attitude that they have for their constituents. “Our federal officials will not be able to attend as they will still be in session but will send a video answering questions that the Hispanic Chamber has put forth”, added Cynthia M. Sakulenzki, Pres/CEO of the RGVHCC. Staff for the Congressmen and Senators will be present though to answer any questions and/or to deliver any messages to their bosses that arise during the Luncheon. An open mike will also give those in attendance the opportunity to ask any questions that they may have on issues that affect their business or any concerns that someone may have.
All sponsors will get the opportunity to sit with an elected official during lunch so they may have a one on one conversation with them. Sponsorship’s range from $3,000 (3 tables), $2,000 (2 tables), $1,000 (1 table) and a $500 sponsorship with 5 tickets in priority seating. Reserved tables of 10 is $750 and individual tickets are $50.
Elected officials confirmed to attend so far are: Senator’s Juan Chuy Hinojosa & Eddie Lucio, Jr. State Representatives are: Terry Canales, Bobby Guerra, Ryan Guillen, Oscar Longoria and Rene Oliveira.
