Leadership Mid Valley Class XIV participated in Rio Grande Valley Day at the State Capitol in February, as part of the delegation led by the RGV Partnership and Lower RGV Development Council. The next day, Leadership Mid Valley was hosted by the office of State Representative Armando Martinez as part of the annual LMV Class trip to Austin. Every year, Leadership Mid Valley visits the Capitol to meet with legislators, lobbyists and heads of state departments to learn about the current projects and issues affecting the region as well as the entire state.

Leadership Mid Valley class member Christina Yepez, Knapp Community Care Foundation enjoyed sharing the trip with her fellow classmates and getting to observe the duties of state legislators.
“My favorite part of the trip was experiencing the Capitol with my Leadership Group who posed such great questions to our State Leadership; they were so eager to learn,“ remarked Yepez.
