The Woodlands, Texas — Laura Hinojosa, Hidalgo County District Clerk, will begin her term as president of the County & District Clerk Association of Texas (CDCAT) on July 1, 2019. She was sworn into her new role Thursday evening during the 124th Annual Clerks’ Education Conference in The Woodlands. The membership, consisting of 443 county and district clerks from all 254 counties in the State, first elected Hinojosa to the executive board in 2016.
“I am extremely honored to be serving as President of this great association,” said Hinojosa. “I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to working closely with my peers and executing my duties to the best of my ability.”
The purpose of the association is to promote professional standards, to provide a means for the education of its members regarding the statutory and constitutional duties of the offices of the County Clerk and the District Clerk, and to participate in the legislative, judicial and executive processes of state government beneficial in the performance of the members’ duties.
“Laura is extremely dedicated and has always worked hard for our association. I have no doubt that she will excel in her new role as our president and will continue to represent our organization well. I look forward to working with her to continue strengthening our efforts statewide,” said Jennifer Lindenzweig, CDCAT President.
Laura Hinojosa has served as the Hidalgo County District Clerk since 2007 and was reelected in 2018 to serve a fourth term in office. She has served the association in several capacities including Region VIII Director/Director-in-Charge, Legislative Committee Co-chair, District Clerk Manual Committee Co-chair, and was previously nominated for District Clerk of the Year.
