Texas Border Business
The Latina Hope Program is designed to facilitate the learning, networking, and acting of micro-entrepreneurs who want to start a new micro-business and advance their business idea to a more tangible and profitable point.
During the previous session, the program awarded 16 women a grant, so that they could start or enhance their microbusiness.
The program’s second session will begin September 5, 2018. Program details:
- The program begins with basic workshops on finance information Sponsored by Wells Fargo.
- Every other session, attendees have the opportunity to learn at least two crafts skills such as candle making, card making, jewelry making, knitting / crocheting / quilting, sewing and alterations, soap making, toy making, wreath making and many other handmade skills.
- After attending five trainings, participants have the opportunity to prepare a project plan (basic business plan) and present their business idea to the Latina Hope judging panel.
- The panel decides if the project is mature enough to receive the Latina Hope Ignite fund up to $250 in materials to encourage the creation of new micro business.
