RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS – UTRGV this yearwill host its annual Day of Giving – the university’s largest online annual fundraising event – on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
The Day of Giving is an opportunity for university students, faculty and staff to show support for expanding UTRGV’s educational opportunities, with their gifts providing scholarships for students and funding innovative faculty and programs.
In 2020, the event garnered more than 300 donors in support of the student emergency fund, athletics, the School of Medicine, university libraries, and more than 50 other programs and colleges.
Dr. Kelly Nassour, UTRGV executive vice president for Institutional Advancement, said a gift to the university, no matter the amount, is an important investment in programs and services that enhance student learning, career development, wellness and success.
“Each gift has a direct and immediate impact that empowers students to reach their educational goals,” Nassour said. “I encourage our community to participate in Day of Giving. Just one gift – an investment in one student’s success – has the power to change the world.”
Throughout the Day of Giving event, UTRGV aims to create a culture of philanthropy and gratitude and raise awareness of the power of giving back. For more information, or to make a gift, please visit the UTRGV Day of Giving website at https://dayofgiving.utrgv.edu/.
