During its monthly meeting, the Laredo Licensed U.S. Customs Brokers Association (LLUSCBA) announced the recognition of Laredo College logistics students, including 17 dual-enrolled students at United South High School, that recently graduated from the National Education Institute Program as Certified Customs Specialists.

At the head of the National Education Institute Program are Cynthia Whittenburg and Federico “Kiko” Zuñiga. Other dignitaries present for this recognition included LLUSCBA President Monica Salinas, Laredo College Board Vice President Jorge “JD” Delgado, Laredo College Vice President for Resource Development and External Affairs Dr. Nora Garza, LC Associate Dean of Dual Enrollment Albert Hernandez, LC Logistics Instructor Andrés López, United South High School Magnet Dean Sinneh Koroma, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Laredo Port Director Alberto Flores, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Director of Field Operations in Laredo Randy Howe and several other distinguished guests.

The Laredo College Logistics Program has been one of the most sought-after workforce programs due to its high academic rigor and skills training for students seeking meaningful employment within the logistics field. The program works in collaboration with the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, Inc. (NCBFAA) Educational Institute, an agency dedicated to providing educational opportunities in the areas of international trade, supply chain management, global logistics, customs brokerage, export transactions, transportation, attendant government regulation and those areas of knowledge necessary to manage or advance a career path in a business providing services to those sectors.
