If there is even a small silver lining emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic it’s that it has amplified the spirit of unity and collaboration amongst people in our community. With this in mind, Laredo College joined forces with the South Texas Food Bank for a free food distribution drive at the Laredo College South Campus on Friday, May 8.
Hundreds of families from Laredo and surrounding areas drove away with food items to help them feed their loved ones during these difficult times. The event was open to the community and all food items were distributed.
“Our college administrators and Board of Trustees are committed to serving not only our student population but also our community-at-large,” Laredo College President Dr. Ricardo J. Solis said. “Through our close relationships with multiple local, state and national civic and non-profit organizations, we are able to support our local community through projects and initiatives that benefit our citizens.”
Laredo College stands proud as an institution people can count on during the most difficult times. We remain committed to excellence in education, economic development and professional innovation.
