KURV Radio Personality and morning news anchor Sergio Sanchez will venture into
politics. Sanchez who has been a fixture at KURV for almost two decades filed for office

Thursday evening. Surrounded by friends and supporters, Sanchez officially filed to run
for Hidalgo County Republican Chairman.
Currently Hidalgo County Chairman Javier Villalobos officially received the filing
form. Candidates wishing to run for office have a deadline to file Monday December 9th .

Quite a few people submitted their filing applications to run for precinct chairs Thursday
evening.
