Rogers is a dedicated professional and a big achiever by becoming the teacher of the year for the school and then the district teacher of the year, which is fantastic.

“I’m honored and humbled. I don’t feel like I’m any better than any of the other teachers around; we’re all in there for the same reason. To be pointed out as somebody that’s a leader, it’s an honor,” she told Texas Border Business.

Is it difficult to get this recognition? “I don’t know about difficult, it was all voted for. So, once you get teacher of the year, you write some essays. So, I guess I wrote well.”

Kristi also attended to the Dave & Buster’s dinner in recognition of all Top Teachers. She enjoyed her evening with colleagues and leadership of the McAllen ISD.
