Keep McAllen Beautiful is unveiling its latest painted standpipe, and it will be the first-ever animated artwork for the community.
Artists Jimi Keirn and Fariss Ryan incorporated augmented reality (AR) into this public artwork for KMB. By scanning a QR code located on the artwork with their cell phone, the public will see the pipe and the elements on it become animated, thanks to AR.
“A heartfelt thank you to Keep McAllen Beautiful for continuing to allow me to explore, experiment, and innovate. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities provided by this wonderful city to create public art,” said Keirn.
Parking is available at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Enter through 2nd St. only and park on the right side of the lot in non-reserved areas.
