Keep McAllen Beautiful takes the health and safety of our board members, staff and volunteers as a top priority.  The events that have unfolded recently regarding the coronavirus have prompted us to take action and ensure the well-being of everyone.

The KMP Executive Board met this afternoon and all members collectively agreed that all Keep McAllen Beautiful events and projects be postponed until further notice based on health guidelines and recommendations made from City of McAllen management, Hidalgo County health officials, and the CDC.

This applies to the Great American Cleanup (GAC) scheduled for April 18, 2020, the Proclamation that was scheduled on April 13, 2020, for GAC, as well as and any other projects and events we are currently working on. The nature of our projects calls for volunteers and therefore, we thought it is prudent to postpone all such activity until further notice.

Additionally, the Keep McAllen Beautiful Board Meeting scheduled for April 1, 20202, will also be postponed until further notice.

We encourage everyone to continue to check the Hidalgo County Health & Human Services Department website at www.hidalgocounty.us and the Center for Disease Control website at www.cdc.gov for the most up-to-date information and guidance regarding this pandemic.

Please feel free to call at 956-681-4562 or email us at kmb@mcallen.net should you have any questions.
