PHARR, Texas – The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Junior’s Supermarket for their outstanding support as the sole watermelon level sponsor for our annual Empty Bowls Luncheon and Silent Auction taking place next Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg. Junior’s Supermarket’s generous contribution highlights their ongoing dedication towards the fight against hunger in our community. Their donation will provide up to 50,000 meals to those in need throughout the RGV.

The Food Bank RGV’s signature fundraiser, Empty Bowls 2023 presented by H-E-B Hunger Relief, will offer guests a delightful afternoon full of delicious food tastings from over 30 local restaurants, music, and the chance to participate in a thrilling silent auction and raffles. The event also features KRGV’s Tim Smith and KTEX’s JoJo Cerda as the luncheon’s official emcees. Additionally, guests will receive a unique hand-painted ceramic bowl to commemorate the ongoing battle against hunger and food insecurity in our community.
