SAN JUAN, Texas – San Juan Municipal Judge Jorge Zambrano is proud to announce his candidacy for Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2, Place 1. He will be filing as a Democratic candidate for a place on the ballot to complete the unexpired term of the late Justice of the Peace Bobby Contreras.
“I am excited to embark on this journey, and I am ready to administer justice in a fair ad impartial manner. I commend Judge Contreras for his many years of public service to our community as Justice of the Peace as well as a former school board member,” stated Zambrano.
Zambrano himself previously served the tri-city area as former Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) Trustee. “For me, public service is more than a calling; it is a moral obligation to help people in need,” said Zambrano. “My years of public service, as well as professional experience as a licensed realtor, business owner, legal professional and municipal judge have all prepared me for this position, and my extensive involvement in the community makes me the right candidate for this court,” he continued.
“As your next Justice of the Peace, I will serve with the utmost respect and integrity in order to administer justice fairly and impartially for everyone who makes an appearance in this court,” Zambrano continued.
Zambrano’s campaign will focus on key issues, including:
- Accessibility, availability and transparency of court operations;
- Cooperation and coordination with other Precinct and County offices, including the Constable’s Office, Commissioner’s Court, County Precinct Offices, and others; and most importantly,
- Handling court business with integrity, fairness, and justice for all.
“I am ready and eager to put my background, knowledge, experience, and dedication to service for our community to work as your next Justice of the Peace,” Zambrano added.
The Democratic Primary election is scheduled for March 2026.
