McALLEN, Texas – The Greater McAllen Association of REALTORS® (GMAR) is proud to announce that Jonathan Lindley and three of his colleagues across the state have been honored with the REALTORS® to Watch award by the Texas REALTORS® Young Professionals Network (YPN) at the Shaping Texas Virtual Education Series on September 13th. The REALTORS® to Watch Award recognizes Texas REALTORS® under the age of 40 for their excellence in leadership, community involvement and professionalism.

Lee Jinks, 2021 GMAR Board of Directors President said, “As young as Jonathan is, he has achieved some impressive milestones. He was the 2020 Board of Directors President for the Greater McAllen Association of REALTORS® and he is the Managing Broker of a successful Real Estate firm, Re/Max Platinum. I look forward to seeing what Jonathan accomplishes in his future endeavors.”

A journey that started in 2004, Lindley was still attending high school when he began his real estate career by taking pre-license courses. More than 15 years later, he is now a co-owner and broker in McAllen overseeing more than 20 agents. He has experience in many different real estate specialties including new and existing homes, commercial sales and leases, farm and ranch sales and foreclosure listings. He only wishes that he got involved sooner.

“I am truly honored to have been selected by Texas REALTORS® to receive the “REALTORS® to Watch” Award along with 3 other state recipients”, stated Mr. Lindley. “The Real Estate industry is exciting on so many different levels and each of my clients brings their own unique perspective to our interactions and transactions whether they be a first-time home buyer or a business owner expanding to a new location. It is also a pleasure to work alongside my fellow REALTORS® at association gatherings and events serving the public; being a REALTOR® is more than just opening doors, it’s being part of the community and giving back to the community.”

Lindley became his local association’s president in 2020, and despite the impact COVID-19 had on the world, as well as the real estate industry, he used the uncertainty of 2020 during his term as president of Greater McAllen Association of REALTORS® to rise to the challenge. Lindley worked with state and national leaders so REALTORS® could be included by Governor Abbott in the list of essential workers, in addition to being included in the list of independent contractors by the Trump Administration; he helped establish a Diversity & Inclusion Committee; and worked with association staff and leaders to equip their members with the tools necessary to navigate the new and fast-paced market.

He is also an active volunteer in his community working with his local and state associations and his community at large, including food drives for charity, volunteering with his local association to serve meals to underserved communities, raising supplies and monetary donations for assisted living communities, or donating to the local dog shelter.
