EDINBURG, Texas – On Tuesday, U.S. Border Patrol along with multiple law enforcement agencies discovered four human smuggling stash houses throughout the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
Tuesday afternoon, Rio Grande Valley Sector agents working in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Hidalgo County Constables Office (HCCO) received information of a residence in Mission, Texas, operating as a human smuggling stash house. Inside the home, agents and HCCO deputies discovered 16 illegal aliens from the countries of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. Agents arrested a United States citizen found inside the stash house, and have referred the case for federal prosecution.Â
That same day, Border Patrol working in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies discovered three additional stash houses that led to the arrest of four stash house operators and eight illegal aliens.
Border Patrol processed the cases accordingly.
