The Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Town Hall Luncheon with Javier Palomarez, former President of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on Friday, August 10th.
“We are excited to have a nationally renowned native of south Texas be our keynote speaker at our Town Hall,” said Cynthia Sakulenzki, President, and CEO of the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “Javier Palomarez has been a tremendous supporter of Hispanic small business and a leading voice on Hispanic issues in Texas and across the country.”
A pioneer in multicultural marketing, Palomarez has more than two decades of corporate experience and entrepreneurial insight. He began his career at Allstate Insurance Corporation where he worked to initiate the industry’s first fully-integrated, nationwide Hispanic marketing, sales, and service campaign. Following his tenure at Allstate, Palomarez was recruited by Sprint, Inc., where he rose through the ranks to become the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. Following Sprint, he was recruited to Bank of America, where he served as Senior Vice President of Multicultural Marketing and was responsible for advertising, marketing, sponsorship and public & media relations to help position this global leader in the financial services industry. His opinions and viewpoints have appeared in leading media outlets including ABC, Bloomberg Businessweek, CBS, CNN, Dallas Morning News, Fox, Los Angeles Times, MSNBC, NBC, Reuters, Telemundo, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Time, Univision, USA Today and many others.
Palomarez is a seasoned public speaker, delivering numerous keynote speeches, as well as panel discussions for some of the nation’s most influential institutions and conferences – including the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, The Atlantic, the Milken Institute, and the George W. Bush Institute. He is also a sought-after commencement speaker and has addressed graduating classes at Notre Dame University, Westminster College, Univ. of California – Irvine, Florida International University, and Miami Dade College.
He has consistently appeared on Latino Leaders Magazines “100 Most Influential” list and was presented with their Maestro Award in 2014. He has been named one of the “75 Most Influential Hispanics”. He had been recognized by Spain’s leading daily news outlet and featured by the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC). He is the recipient of the Bnai Zion “Humanitarian of the Year” award, recognized by the Government of Mexico with the Ohtli Award, the highest honor bestowed upon foreign citizens, and other awards.
Mr. Palomarez will be addressing questions put forth by RGVHCC President/CEO Cynthia M. Sakulenzki and Veronica Gonzales, UTRGV Vice President of Government & Community Relations relating to US/Mexico relations, NAFTA, Hispanic role in upcoming Texas politics, DACA, the role of the Hispanic businesses in the U.S., etc.
The event will take place at the DoubleTree Suites, 1800 S 2nd Street in McAllen at 11:30 AM. Tickets are $30 or a Reserved table of 8 is $300.
