McAllen, Texas, December 8, 2016: In maintaining its signature focus on customer service and convenience, Inter National Bank (INB) prides itself on adapting to fit each customer’s needs. Thus, INB is proud to announce to be the first qualified local community bank of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office to be part of the Preferred Lenders Program (PLP). In order to be part of this leading program, lenders are considered for PLP status based on their record with the SBA and must have demonstrated a proficiency in processing and servicing SBA-guaranteed loans.

PLP Lenders are authorized to make SBA guaranteed loans, subject only to a brief eligibility review and assignment of a loan number by SBA. In addition, they are expected to handle servicing and liquidation of all of their SBA loans with limited involvement of SBA.

PLP is part of SBA’s effort to streamline the procedures necessary to provide financial assistance to the small business community. Under this program, SBA delegates the final credit decision and most servicing and liquidation authority and responsibility to carefully selected PLP lenders. Mili Shah, SBA Lending Director, stated, “I am honored to be leading our efforts to move INB forward with a program that will benefit the community with great products offered by the SBA, and I am thankful to the local district office for supporting and helping us achieve one of our 2016 goals.”
