COSTEP’s Rick Carrera provided a presentation on regional assets, advantages, and available workforce which was accentuated by presentations from key regional stakeholders, as the information provided not only helped with valuable data but also signifies collaboration among regional entities.

Rick Carrera stated, “Rio South Texas, being a bi-national region, is advantageous for any number of industries – information technology being one of them.  Our available workforce, plentiful and statistically speaking very young, would be ideal for the expansion being considered by the investment group”

Adam Gonzalez, COSTEP CEO coordinated presentations from regional stakeholders including LPS International Law Firm, CIL, South Texas College, UTRGV, Texas Southmost College, TSTC, and Workforce Solutions.

“This was a great opportunity to co-host and present the Rio South Texas Region to Project Mesquite.  Investors are looking for a location to establish an Information Technology hub in the region.  More to come on this exciting new project.” stated Gonzalez.

The investors were left with little if any, doubt on the available workforce and knowledge that our regional partners are ready to provide the assistance necessary to facilitate a successful expansion into the region. Moreover, all were impressed with a very positive view of the Rio South Texas region.

COSTEP would like to thank all the regional stakeholders who participated in this quick tour. Special thanks to Mario Reyna and Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez for their attendance and input.
