Impaired Driver Enforcement: Independence Day Holiday, June 21st– July 7th

The McAllen Police Department, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation and other Hidalgo County law enforcement agencies, will be participating in the Impaired Driving Mobilization (IDM) Independence Day Campaign, which will run from Friday, June 21, 2024 until Sunday, July 7, 2024 with a goal to promote safe driving with its educational and enforcement efforts. Image for illustration purposes

The McAllen Police Department, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation and other Hidalgo County law enforcement agencies, will be participating in the Impaired Driving Mobilization (IDM) Independence Day Campaign, which will run from Friday, June 21, 2024 until Sunday, July 7, 2024 with a goal to promote safe driving with its educational and enforcement efforts. 

The McAllen Police Department will increase its enforcements efforts during the Summer period and will be looking for drunk drivers on the roadways as well as other traffic law violations.  

As the Independence Day Holidays begin, the McAllen Police Department, reminds motorist, to plan while you can.  If you plan to drink alcohol, plan for a sober ride such as designating a sober driver, using a ride share service, calling a taxi, or simply staying where you are. Drunk Driving leaves a lasting impact. Drive Sober. No Regrets.
