Collaborating with the Consulate of Mexico, the International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is extremely proud to be the premier venue in the United States for the exhibition Sin poesía no hay ciudad: The Street Poetry of Armando Alaís Pulido from July 7 through November 6, 2016.
The exhibition features 40 photographs of street poetry from the deeply optimistic verses of Mexican poet and Nobel laureate Octavio Paz; there are also extracts from verses by Alanís himself. A recognized writer and editor with copious poetry awards, Alanís has numerous publications of his own writing and has edited over 25 books of poetry.
The exhibition is jointly organized by IMAS, the Mexican Consulate in McAllen and the Latin American Foundation for the Arts (LAFA). The exhibition will coincide with the 2016 International Latin American Poetry Festival (FEIPOL) in McAllen, TX from September 1-3, 2016.
