Rio Grande Valley – Yesterday, IDEA Toros scholars volunteered at the RGV Food Bank to give back to their community during this season of giving. Through the hours they volunteered, they were able to feed 300 families a complete and balanced meal.
During their time volunteering they sorted over five pallets of food and prepared 350 bags to feed families.
“The experience the students gained was priceless,” says Viviane Castillo-Manzano, principal of IDEA Toros. “It was remarkable to see. They worked with tremendous pride knowing the positive impact they were having for those who need help.”
In total, the students were able to help with over 8,000 pounds of food that will go to those in need in the Rio Grande Valley.
IDEA Toros was founded in 2016 and serves students in grades 6 – 12. For more information on IDEA Toros or to apply please visit www.ideapublicschools.org.
