This week, IDEA Public Schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week to promote and highlight the healthy food available daily to children at all IDEA campuses.
“School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains and milk, and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories and sodium,” says Fernando Aguilar, Managing Director of the Child Nutrition Program at IDEA Public Schools. “National School Lunch Week helps us educate parents and students about all the wonderful benefits of our lunch program.”
In an ongoing effort to support the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, IDEA Public Schools will serve curbside meals at all of their campuses throughout Texas and Louisiana to all children 18 years and under.
For IDEA schools in Texas, meals are available at all campuses for pick-up on Monday through Friday and feature breakfast, lunch and supper. Please contact your nearest campus for pick-up times. Weekend bundled meals are also available on Fridays.
All meals are provided via drive-thru only. All children in the community 18 years and under are eligible for meal service at any school location. Due to new regulations by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), if a child is not present in the car, parents must show proof of child identity to receive meals.
