Yesterday, IDEA Public Schools hosted Chris Boswell, City of Harlingen Mayor, Senator Eddie Lucio Jr., community leaders, board members, IDEA students and others in celebrating the groundbreaking of its newest campus in the Lower Valley, IDEA Harlingen, which will be located at 24240 Chester Park Rd.
IDEA Public Schools was founded in the Rio Grande Valley in 2000. Since then, we have opened schools in Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Tarrant County and Southern Louisiana. By 2022, IDEA will operate more than 200 schools in 10 regions preparing to serve 100,000 students and families. In the Rio Grande Valley, IDEA currently serves 27,000 students at 39 schools. We are poised to serve 38,000 students at 55 schools by 2022. Since IDEA’s first graduating class in 2007, 100 percent of our seniors have been accepted to colleges and universities nationwide.
IDEA Harlingen will be opening in August 2020 with grades kinder through second and sixth grade. Families can apply for the campus online at www.ideapublicschools.org/apply.
