—-(SEPT. 10, 2015) SAN ANTONIO – IBC Bank recently announced the promotion of Julie Tarvin to Service Center CEO.
Prior to her promotion, Tarvin served as senior vice president of financial reporting, enterprise risk management and credit administration. In her new position, Tarvin oversees IBC Bank’s information technology, including its hardware infrastructure, software and customer interface. Housed in San Antonio, the Service Center is at the heart of how IBC Bank processes every transaction.
Tarvin has a 20-plus-year career with IBC Bank, beginning as an operations analyst. Her duties then moved into the financial reporting where she eventually developed the corporate credit administration group. Tarvin was also instrumental in creating IBC Bank’s enterprise risk management group.
“Julie is a seasoned veteran of banking who has been heavily involved in all facets of IBC Bank,” said IBC Bank Chairman and CEO Dennis E. Nixon. “Her deep knowledge of risk management, financial reporting and technology is an asset to our institution. We are proud to promote her to this key position in the company.”
Heavily involved in the community, Tarvin has served on a number of boards and charitable causes, including Laredo’s Communities in Schools as president and treasurer, the Junior Achievement Board, the board of Financial Women International, president of Leadership Laredo where she helped build the organization’s youth leadership program, and a women’s affinity group for women in finance associated with the San Antonio chapter of the Risk Management Association.
“I’m honored to be afforded the opportunity to serve IBC Bank and its customers in this capacity,” Tarvin said. “The experience I’ve garnered throughout my career has prepared me for this challenge.”
Tarvin graduated from the University of Akron in Ohio with a degree in finance.
