McAllen, Texas – Recently, IBC Bank-McAllen President & CEO R. David Guerra announced the total of the bank’s 2014 charitable giving at a morning reception hosted to honor the local nonprofit recipients, which included the United Way along with other local organizations doing good work in the Rio Grande Valley.
Through these donations, IBC Bank reinforces its commitment to support the community with promoting education and cultural enrichment, financial stability, and economic development. In 2014, IBC Bank-McAllen donated more than $347,000 to several hundred charitable and civic organizations located in Hidalgo County and the Rio Grande Valley. This investment in the local community helps create lasting, sustainable changes that lead to better, stronger places to live and work.
“IBC has always believed in the power of our ‘We Do More’ philosophy which is the core foundation of our commitment to reinvest into the 90 communities we serve across Texas and Oklahoma. By contributing to local agencies who charitably serve our local citizens, we make a difference that will have true socio-economic impact,” said R. David Guerra, President and CEO of IBC-McAllen.
“IBC-McAllen continues to partner with hundreds of local charitable causes, and for several years we have been partnering with the organizations present at this reception today. We are honored to be a part of the wonderful work they do for our local communities,” Guerra said.
The charitable organizations and civic organizations present at the reception hosted by IBC Bank McAllen included: United Way of South Texas, Boys and Girls Clubs of McAllen, March of Dimes, City of McAllen, McAllen Chamber of Commerce, McAllen-Valley Chapter of Hadassah, Palm Valley Animal Center, Rio Grande Valley Partnership Regional Chamber of Commerce, IDEA Public Schools, Teach for America, Valley Symphony Orchestra & Chorale, and Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (VAMOS).
Other groups who also received the highest contributions by IBC Bank-McAllen in 2014, who were not in attendance, included: The Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle; Museum of South Texas History; Border Fest Association; McAllen Independent School District’s McAllen Education Foundation; the University of Texas-Pan American including the Hispanic Engineering, Science & Technology (HESTEC), The President’s Circle, Athletics, Alumni Association, and International Women’s Board (IWB) of the UTPA Foundation.
