LAREDO, Texas – IBC Bank-Laredo recently announced the promotion of Assistant Vice Presidents Judi Cruz Garcia and Hilda Torres to Vice Presidents.
Torres joined IBC Bank in 1999 and was promoted to bank officer in 2008. Her responsibilities include managing the day-to-day schedule of IBC Bank Chairman and CEO Dennis E. Nixon, serving as assistant to IBC Bank’s holding company International Bancshares Corporation and supervising the sales associates who assist the bank’s commercial lenders. Torres began her career at IBC Bank as a secretary in commercial lending where she trained in commercial credit.
Garcia joined IBC Bank in 2017 and has worked in the banking industry for over 25 years. Her responsibilities include managing the team responsible for preparing and analyzing the monthly financial reports for the board of directors, reviewing reconciliations and reports prepared by the accounting staff, monitoring and assessing internal control structure and continually enhancing existing processes, and preparing regulatory reports filed with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Reserve and Securities and Exchange Commission.

Torres also studied at Texas A&M International University in Laredo. In February of this year, she was elected as treasurer of Volunteers Serving the Need, a local non-profit that supports the needs of veterans in the community.
Garcia received her bachelor of business administration in accounting from Texas A&M International University in Laredo. She was recently named a corporate member of the Boys & Girls Club of Laredo.
