Rockets versus Warriors scheduled for Oct. 19 at State Farm Arena

MCALLEN, Texas, June 18, 2014 – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the NBA Development League single-affiliate of the Houston Rockets, today announced that the Rockets will return to the RGV for Rocket Launch 2014. Houston will host the Golden State Warriors Sunday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at State Farm Arena. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 27 and will be available at the Vipers Pro Shop in Uptown Plaza or at Ticketmaster.com.
“The Vipers are excited to host our fourth Rocket Launch to kick off the 2014-15 season,” Vipers president Bert Garcia said. “Once again, we look forward to bringing NBA entertainment to the RGV when the Rockets and Warriors hit the hardwood at State Farm Arena.”
Rocket Launch 2014 will include the Houston Rockets training camp at the Vipers’ new practice facility in Edinburg, along with community events and the preseason exhibition game featuring the Rockets and Warriors. Training camp and community event details will be announced in the coming months.
“We are thrilled to return to The Valley this fall to spend time in the community and play a preseason game against one of the Western Conference’s most exciting teams, the Golden State Warriors,” said Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey.
The Rockets last visited the Rio Grande Valley on Oct. 17, 2012 when they hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder. Previously, Houston also hosted the Orlando Magic in 2010 and the Boston Celtics in 2009.
